Find Harold his Forever Home
Manchester-based pet bed specialists Scruffs® have launched a heart-warming campaign to help a homeless Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross find a new family in time for Christmas and the new year.
Harold, pictured above, has been in the kennels at Manchester Dogs Home since May; after being found on the streets.
In a post on the company's Facebook page this afternoon, Scruffs® said:
"Say a big hello to the lovely Harold.
Harold is a 10 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross. He arrived with our good friends over at Manchester Dogs Home in May earlier this year after being found on the streets, and is really not enjoying being in the kennels. 7-8 months is far too long for such a lovely dog to be waiting for someone special.
As with all rescue dogs, they deserve a chance at finding their forever home. But sometimes they need a little extra help, especially being a slightly older dog. So Rose our photographer invited Harold in to our studio for a photoshoot that will hopefully change his life. Scruffs would love nothing more than to give Harold the best present this year; a new home, and a new start.
He’s a lovely dog, who has a lot of love to give. He seems much younger than 10, and he loves toys, belly rubs and knows some basic commands. We've given Harold a new bed to take onto his new home too, so he's packed and ready to go!
Please help us give Harold the best present of all. His forever home."
Neil at Manchester Dogs Home said: "Harold is much happier running around in our gardens and playing tug games, and is best to be the only dog in the household. His new owner would need to keep socialising him with other dogs. He is also recommended not to be rehomed with any children under the age of 16.”
Scruffs® have also launched a dedicated tag, #HaroldsXmasPressie, to help with the cause.

UPDATE: Scruffs® can confirm that as of March 2017, Harold has been adopted by a loving family; we sincerely hope he has indeed found his forever home.
