Scruffs® Mark Horrific Dogs Home Fire Anniversary with Donation
Manchester-based luxury pet bed specialists Scruffs® visited Manchester Dogs Home in November 2015 and donated a number of products to help rebuild and support the home following it’s tragic fire. The fire, which was started deliberately, claimed the lives of around 60 animals; with hundreds more having to be rescued as the fire ripped through the home on September 11th 2014.
Scruffs®, who celebrated their 10th birthday in 2015, have donated over £17,000 worth of products to various charities and competition winners over the past few years, including a 10-day giveaway event on the company’s Facebook page back in May 2015.
Sales Director Dubby Klyne said, “It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to be able to give something back to the community of people who have supported us during our 10 years; and a very special way for Scruffs® to mark the first anniversary of the horrific fire at Manchester Dogs Home. We wish them all the very best with the rebuild.”
Manchester Dogs Home manager Steve Mapley said: “We are extremely grateful for the donation of the beds, it’s great that company's like Scruffs® come on board and support us in this way. Despite the fire, the dogs home still provides care for stray dogs from all over the greater Manchester area, and eventually find their forever homes. The temporary adoption block will be a massive help to us as coming up to Christmas we have a larger amount of strays coming in, so the donation of beds is amazing in providing a comfy place to rest and sleep.”
